Who is the Panchen Lama?
The Panchen Lama was 6 years old when he and his parents were kidnapped from their home in Tibet by the Chinese government. He is the world's youngest political prisoner and he has been missing for over 6 years.
Panchen Lama is a title like Vice-President or Prime Minister that Tibetans give to the second greatest leader of Tibet. Panchen means "Great Scholar" and Lama is a word Tibetans use for a religious teacher. Tibetian Buddhists believe that the Panchen Lama is the protector of all the world's living beings.
This all means that the boy in this picture will grow up to be a very powerful leader of Tibet and perhaps the world.
Why did the Chinese Government Kidnap The Panchen Lama and his Parents?
Tibet used to be its own country but China invaded it in 1949. After the Chinese took over, Tibetans in Tibet were no longer free or happy. China kidnapped the Panchen Lama, his parents and brother from their home in Tibet and are holding them under house arrest somewhere in China.

 Saturday June 29: Phil Lesh & Phriends with The Allman Bros. @ Deer Creek (Verizon Music Center). Adam and Erica will be vending items June 28, 29, 30 in Glowood Campground... C U there on ShakeDown Street!
Friday & Saturday, August 9th & 10th: Grass Roots Music Festival at The Waterbowl in Muncie, Indiana. Weekend tickets will be $30 per person in advance ($40 at the gate). Camping will be $5 per tent. Music: Ekoostic hookah is booked for Saturday nite, 10 great bands that
played last year are coming back including Might As Well, Gold Room,
Wailhounds, Vynyl Groove, JEB, Paul's Apartment and Captain Jackpot. The
electric stage will have music from 11am to 11pm. There will also be an
acoustic stage with a full day schedule also (Grateful Groove, Ellsworth2,
Duane Eby, Jill Mozena, etc.). There is still a possiblity of another
National type group to be booked for Friday nite, there is a bid out to Ray's
Music Exchange. This year they are also allowing food vendors in addition to merchandise
vendors, so if you know anyone who might be interested in vending let them
know. You can charge tickets by phone to 260-420-4023.
The Waterbowl is a swimming hole that was made into a outdoor music festival
venue in the 70's or early 80's. They have a big pond for swimming,
concession stand, showers (for the pond area but can be used for campers), and a
big stage facing away from the pond towards a natural "bowl" grassy area.
Labor Day Weekend. Friday, Saturday, Sunday. August 30th to September 1st: Third Annual moe.down Tickets are on sale now! 3 Day Pass including camping is $60 until July 1st and then $75 until August 1st, 2002. The Third Annual moe.down will have 6 sets of moe.

Levitating a few feet above the ground while circling around a warm campfire during a cool phamily drum circle, and eating extra spicy General Tso's Chicken with egg rolls or some fresh sushi. Yum-Yum!

To choose order over disorder, or disorder over order, is to accept a trip composed of both the creative and the destructive. To accomplish this, one need only accept creative disorder along with, and equal to, creative order, and also willing to reject destructive order as an undesirable equal to destructive disorder.
